Yossi Benayoun is out for the up upcoming Euro 2012 qualifier

The former Liverpool and West Ham playmaker had been hoping to recover from a calf strain to feature in his country's upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers.
Israel tackle Croatia and Greece over the next week, but Benayoun is now out for a lengthy period after a scan revealed a tear to his Achilles tendon.
"I arrived with hope of helping the national team but unfortunately this is not a simple injury... an additional test will reveal what needs to be done," he told the Israel FA's official website.
Benayoun has missed Chelsea's recent matches after picking up a calf strain in the club's Carling Cup exit to Newcastle United.
Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti will now be agonising over this latest setback for Benayoun which is sure to rule him out for some time.
