Scotland men who wear skirt Banned from playing back pipe in Euro 2012 qualifier


Scot fans were warned they would not be let into the crunch Euro 2012 qualifier with the instruments.
It meant our team played without the backing of the pipes for the first time ever. The SFA announced the ban in leaflets handed out before supporters travelled to the Synot Tip Arena for the game gainst the Czech Republic which Scotland lost 1-0.
Caledonian Brewery Pipe Band member Craig Steven, 41, of Edinburgh, said: "I've been to 70 Scotland games and this is the first time bagpipes have been banned. The SFA told us they were baffled."
Pal Alasdair Laurie, 36, said: "It's shocking - we've been bounced by the Czechs."
Drummer Craig Shepherd, 39, of Edinburgh, added: "It's not as if it's the vuvuzela."
Bob Bell, 24, of Thurso, Caithness, said: "It's crazy. I've never heard of anyone being killed by bagpipes."
