The vacant Welsh managerial position has not yet been advertised, the Football Association of Wales has revealed.

Former boss John Toshack stepped down from the post earlier in the month after six years at the helm, and a number of names have been touted as possible successors.

Ryan Giggs, Martin O'Neill and Chris Coleman have all linked with the job, while former England coach Terry Venables has also recently come into contention.

Brian Flynn has taken temporary control of the side and is currently preparing for next month's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland.

Flynn is another candidate for the position but the FAW admits applications are not yet being taken.

A spokesman said: "We've not actually advertised the position at all as yet, so anybody who is throwing their hat into the ring is doing so very much from their own point of view at the moment."

Toshack had his contract with the FAW terminated by mutual consent after his side were beaten in their opening qualifier by Montenegro.
