The boxing world's most famous pair of brothers have officially been dawn into Ukraine's preparations for the 2012 European Football Championship. Heavyweight champions Vladimir and Vitali Klitschko will take a key role in promoting the event in their home country.

At an official presentation on Tuesday in Kiev, Ukraine, the Klitschko's were made "friends" of the 2012 European Football Championship. The Klitschkos are certainly used to promoting their boxing bouts...but for the next two years they will also do their bit for a different sport. Ukraine will co-host the 2012 tournament with Poland and it will be the third time the European Championship is jointly hosted by two countries, after Belgium/Netherlands in 2000 and Austria/Switzerland in 2008.

Vitali Klitschko said, "It is a very big honour to be a friend of Euro 2012. I'm sure that we can do so much. And Euro 2012 will be a winner for Ukraine, its economy, its sport, and its infrastructure that will be built soon."
