Scotland call on in-form Mackie for UEFA EURO 2012 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and holders Spain on 8 and 12 October.

Craig Levein has named a 24-man squad for Scotland's UEFA EURO 2012 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and holders Spain on 8 and 12 October.
James McFadden and Kris Boyd have been left out, the former having suffered a cruciate ligament injury to his knee on 17 September, meaning Queens Park Rangers FC striker Jamie Mackie earns his first call-up after starting the season with eight goals. Goalkeeper Craig Gordon and centre-back Gary Caldwell return following long-term arm and hip injuries respectively, while Celtic FC midfielder Shaun Maloney has also been recalled.
"If you look at the strikers I've picked, I've gone with players in form," said Levein. "I had a chat with Kris [Boyd] and explained that to him. Shaun had a really terrible time of it last year with injuries, but I'm really pleased he's managed to get a number of games under his belt. Craig Gordon won't start the match against the Czech Republic. It's important to get him back involved with the squad again, but I've been really happy with Allan McGregor."
Lee McCulloch is suspended for the game against the Czech Republic in Prague on 8 October, with world and European champions Spain due at Hampden Park four days later.
