Klose broke the resistance of the well-organised, disciplined home side three minutes after half-time with his sixth goal of what is shaping up to be another prolific campaign. The FC Bayern München striker suffered a thigh injury soon after, however, and was replaced by club-mate Gómez, who doubled the lead before Podolski added a third five minutes from time.

Joachim Löw's visitors – unchanged from Friday's win against Turkey  fashioned the first chance after six minutes when Klose's solo run resulted in the ball falling for Podolski, who shot over. Thomas Müller then failed to score from a tight angle and Klose's header cleared the crossbar as Kazakhstan seemed content to concede territory and possession to their opponents.

Toni Kroos's effort which was parried by Andrei Sidelnikov was the best the visitors could muster until shortly before the break when Sami Khedira threatened with two headers, the second of which hit the top of the crossbar. The breakthrough arrived after 48 minutes, however, as Mesut Özil's pass inside from the left found Podolski, who set up Klose for his 58th international goal.

Kazakhstan responded with the lively Heinrich Schmidtgal narrowly missing the top corner, and then forcing Manuel Neuer into his only save of the night with a fierce left-footed drive. Müller then fired over after being set clear by Özil, a miss which almost proved costly when Schmidtgal set up Sergei Khizhnichenko, who failed to connect cleanly when well placed on the penalty spot.

Gómez quelled any hopes Kazakhstan had of claiming a famous result when he finished off Podolski's through ball on 76 minutes. Provider turned scorer late on by surging past several defenders and beating Sidelnikov with a low shot.

Two Miroslav Klose goals either side of a Mesut Özil effort gave Germany a comfortable victory in the battle of the UEFA EURO 2012 Group A pacesetters, though Turkey could not fault their support at the Olympiastadion.

Berlin's large Turkish community meant that the sell-out, 74,244-strong crowd was dominated by fans of the visiting team, but Joachim Löw's side never forgot that they were the home side, with their greater attacking endeavour rewarded. Klose headed their opener before half-time, and picked up a second three minutes from the end after Özil had made it 2-0.

With Bastian Schweinsteiger and Arda Turan absent, both sides were without key midfielders but looked no worse for that from the start, playing some stylish, short-passing football. Sami Khedira went close on 12 minutes, but Volkan Demirel caught his effort from a tight angle. The Turkey goalkeeper denied Özil soon afterwards, fending away a low shot following a lovely one-two with Khedira.

Turkey's first real chance came after 36 minutes when a long ball sent Halil Altıntop surging forward, but Holger Badstuber's challenge on the edge of the area denied him a one-on-one with Manuel Neuer. Germany then opened the scoring. Volkan managed to turn a close-range Thomas Müller header on to the crossbar from a Philipp Lahm corner, but the on-rushing Klose had no trouble nodding in the rebound.

Per Mertesacker headed just over in first-half added time, and Toni Kroos and Khedira had further chances just after the break before Neuer produced a world-class save to deny Halil Altıntop after a long, low pass from the right found him unmarked at the far post. Turkey did their best to turn up the heat as the clock ticked down, but inevitably left space for their hosts at the other end.

A warning was sounded as, following a tee-up from Özil, Lukas Podolski squandered a gilt-edged chance, but while Volkan managed to keep Khedira out again from another move, in a quick thrust forward after 79 minutes Lahm picked out Özil, and he coolly slotted home. Turkey's misery was complete when Volkan played the ball straight to Klose three minutes from the end, the striker punishing the slip to the full.

Bastian Schweinsteiger’s foot injury rules him out of Germany’s upcoming Euro 2012 qualifier

Bad news has flown in from Germany. The news has officially confirmed that Germany’s rising star Bastian Schweinsteiger will not be able to participate in the Euro 2012 qualification matches because of an injury.

Sources have revealed that the 26 year old midfielder has injured his foot therefore has been recommended rest. Germany though is a dominating footballing force having won 3^rd position in FIFA 2010 World Cup by defeating Uruguay 3-2, but still they have a considerably new team and that presents fresh players on the team that might have to be used as replacements. This can actually endanger Germany’s campaign.

The German coach Joachim Loew has admitted his regret over losing the player after all he was one of the pivots in Germany’s midfield. Loew will not just be facing the deficit of Schweinsteiger but Nationalelf are also missing a number of other important players in the squad.

Germany will face Turkey on 8^th October and then four days later Kazakhstan will line up against them. Germany has already won 3 UEFA Euro titles and this time looks like another time where their intentions are to dominate.

They have won their first match against arch rivals Belgium 1-0 and in their second match Germany obliterated Azerbaijan 6-1. In all these matches Germany featured a strong midfield, therefore a bit of an unpredictable performance is expected from Germany in this fixture.

On Schweinsteiger; officials from the club have confirmed that the player has injured his foot hence will be sidelined from play in the coming weeks. This is not good news for Bayern Munich either, because the club is off to one of its worst starts in recent times.

Currently they are at the 12^th position in the German League, Bundesliga. They have played 7 matches and won just 8 points, apparently they too will be in desperate need of their star midfielder Schweinsteiger. 

Schweinsteiger received the injury when Munich lost in a 2-0 shocker against Borussia Dortmund last Sunday. The situation demanded the player to be on field for the whole match therefore he played the full 90 minutes. Still his complaints about pain in his right foot were observable.

At the final whistle the player was rushed to medical care and there officials confirmed that the player had suffered an injury on which further news will be given later.

Monday morning saw the player being scrutinized by doctors. Further examinations and scans revealed that the 26 year old player had damaged the tarsal region of his foot and therefore will be unable to play for a couple of weeks. More results and test are being carried out.

As to who will replace Schweinsteiger on field, nothing is clear yet. Even coach Loew has not hinted who can be used as a possible replacement for him.

BERLIN — Coach Joachim Loew revealed on Wednesday plans to groom Germany's next crop of rising stars with a view to Euro 2012 and to bring Mainz's Lewis Holtby, who has English parentage, into the national squad.After Germany's stars Mesut Ozil and Thomas Mueller impressed at the World Cup in South Africa as part of Loew's young side which finished third, the next batch of talent is now set to be groomed for greatness ready for Euro 2012.Dark horses Mainz have shot to the top of the Bundesliga with six straight wins and both striker Andre Schuerrle, 19, and midfielder Holtby, 20, are now set to be promoted to the Germany squad by the end of the year.Loew has said next month's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Turkey, on October 8, and Kazakhstan, on October 12, may be too soon for the pair, but the friendly against Sweden on November 17 will allow Loew to experiment."Players like Schuerrle or Holtby in Mainz are moving closer to the national team all the time with their performances," Loew told German daily Bild."It's great to see what is currently being developed in Mainz."Dortmund pair midfielder Kevin Grosskreutz and defender Mats Hummels are also in a small group of talented youngsters Loew is looking at to develop before Euro 2012, to be held in the Ukraine and Poland."All of them will still get their chance this year," said Loew."I think for them it is better to play in some Under-21 games, rather than sit on the bench with us."(For the match against Sweden), I will use that to try and test out things."Loew has also said he is very keen to look at Everton-fan Holtby, who has an English father after UK newspapers speculated he may opt to play for Three Lions, because of his Liverpool-born parent, a former soldier.Holtby has represented Germany at under-18, u-19, u-20 and captained the national u-21 side, but could still play for England unless he wins a senior cap for Loew, but has now said he wants to wear the white shirt of Germany.Holtby even says his father has given his blessing to the decision: "He said if I want to win trophies, then it is a good idea".

Germany captain Michael Ballack will miss next month's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Turkey

BERLIN — Germany captain Michael Ballack will miss next month's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Turkey and Kazakhstan after a scan on Sunday revealed he has fractured his left knee cap.

The 33-year-old Bayer Leverkusen midfielder limped out of Saturday's 2-2 draw with Hanover after just 30 minutes following a heavy tackle and underwent an MRI scan on Sunday morning which revealed the damage.

It is the latest injury blow for the 98-times capped Ballack, who has returned to the Bundesliga where he established his reputation after not having his contract renewed at English Premier League champions Chelsea.

Having missed the World Cup after damaging ligaments in his right ankle, Ballack was left out of the Germany squad for this month's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Belgium and Azerbaijan.

The match against Hanover was only his third league game back as he tries to regain fitness after the ankle injury, but will now miss the qualifiers against Turkey in Berlin on October 8 and Kazakhstan in Astana four days later.

National coach coach Joachim Loew expressed his sympathy for his captain with Bayern Munich's Philipp Lahm now set to stay on as temporary skipper until Ballack returns from injury.

"I feel sorry for Michael that he must accept a new health setback," said Loew on Sunday in a German Football Federation (DFB) release.

"Of course I wish him a quick and speedy recovery."

In an interview before the result of the scan was known, Ballack said he would carry on as he always had done in previous trying circumstances and will battle to win his place back.

"I will do what I have always done," he said and added there was no need to "make any drama" out of his new injury.

Loew has said he will select Ballack for the Germany team only when he is fit enough and has proved his form and he faces a race against time to be fit for the friendly against Sweden on November 17.

While Loew has said that a fully-fit Ballack would also regain the captaincy from Lahm, who stood in so successfully for him in South Africa, his standing within the squad has dropped in the wake of Germany's third place finish in the World Cup finals.

"The last few weeks of course were not easy for me. They have shown me how things are," said Ballack.
